So. It’s over. It is really over; and there are no riots in the streets of Chicago and LA, no disappointed citizens packing their belongings together to leave this country for good, no thoughts of anger, of despair. No. Instead there is hope. A light at the end of a long and dark tunnel; after eight years of disappointments, of embarrassments, of failed policies, and of a divided country, there is suddenly a future again that people are willing to fight for, that they are excited to fight for.
It is amazing for me to think about the journey this country has traveled over the past two years. Since I moved to New York, and probably long before, no other topic has been discussed as much as the presidential election. What a long journey it must have been for Barack Obama. From campaigning for the first primaries, to his victory over Hillary Clinton and winning the Democratic Presidential Nomination, to this day of his election and his speech at Grant Park in Chicago tonight.
While I was watching the results come this evening, I couldn’t help but wonder what he must have felt during those last hours of this two year long process. Where was he? What was he doing? New Hampshire. Pennsylvania. Ohio! What went through his head when he saw these election results come in, like we did? Relief? Joy? Pride? Did he possibly even cry when the news channels announced him to be president-elect of the United States of America? All this stress and tension falling off him for a few moments and making room for emotions to take control. Even if just for a split second maybe?
I can only imagine his thoughts and his feelings in those moments. A whole country, the entire world is now looking up to this man. What a responsibility! And how courageous to take on such kind of responsibility, not to shy away from it. What kind of character does it take for someone to endure a two year long campaign, to be scrutinized by the media – every single sentence you say, to be followed wherever you go, and wherever you have gone in your past?
Being an aspiring leader myself, I look up to this man today and bow before him in awe and respect for what he has achieved. For making history. For bringing back hope to this country, and to the world. For standing firm in his beliefs against all odds. For showing strength, courage and fearlessness, when I know that no man or woman, facing the enormous challenges that he will face as the next President of the United States, no man or woman will not also at times feel week, dispirited and fearful during difficult times like these.
But today is not only the day of Barack Obama. Today is the day of the American people. In the past couple of years, Americans I met were embarrassed for their President Bush, for the politics of their country. They apologized for what their country has done to the world. But after eight long years, Americans can finally be proud again; proud to have now an incredibly intelligent, inspiring, and humble man as their leader. I am proud of Obama, and I am happy for all of my American friends who don’t need to feel ashamed anymore, but who can be proud, too. Proud of their new President, and proud of their country, which is no doubt capable of doing much good in this world.
Today, the United States has become a better place. Today, the world has become a better place.

A Report from Bihar Flood relief team
Related to country: India
|
Youth for Equality
YFE team has done commendable relief and mitigation work for the victims of Bihar Floods. Right from humanitarian help in terms of goods, kinds and to the medical facilities, YFE team is working day and night to alleviate the grief and pain of thousands of flood victims.
On 6th September 2008, YFE team left for Flood affected area with medicines, clothes, and food items. When the team reached there at 12 AM on 7th September, it found that the situation was worst and entire affected population were on verge of epidemic. Team immediately started working with volunteers of Khadi Asaram. Next day, doctors from our team, reached at Baidynathpur camp and more than 300 people were provided health care and medicines. Team found that people over there were very weak and affected by malnutrition due to prolonged food deficient caused by flood conditions.
With the help of the volunteers of Delhi University Dept of Social Work we made a PHC by community participation in the Triveniganj area of Supoul District where about 50000 people are lying on the streets. Started non formal education of kids staying in the area and distributed free medications to the patients, donated by member, supports and well wishes of extended YFE family. We found out 12 areas which are badly affected in four districts where no or very little support is going as far as medical support is concerned and a mobile team used to visit those places and used to treat and give them free medications. We constituted two teams in leadership of Dr. Harsh and Dr. Lokesh. Next day these teams served around 700 people at Mazua Camp and through Mobile unit. Bihar Ekta Parisar provided ambulance to our doctors and Khadi Gram Udyag provided fuel for that ambulance. This team visited more than 250 houses and distributed essential kit to all pregnant ladies which includes one torch and three packets of biscuit, two candles, two match box, one pair slippers and one iodized salt. Our team served around 3000 people during next two days in these villages- Motipur Village, Bhutni Bandh, Ratanpur Panchayat, Singeswar, Madepura, Baba Mandir, Dinapati Halt, Rampur Village, and Sabela Camp. One base camp is at Simraha. They have already attended more than 2000 patients. This camp is working round the clock and is open 24 hours a day.
We specially targeted Bhutni Bandh because the maximum population over here was consisting of scheduled caste and this site was neglected by government agencies and other NGOs. Not a single agency was providing medical facilities here. On 15th September, a PHC was opened here. Since then, every day patients are being treated and providing medicines. We organized camp at Sehersa with the help of HELPAGE India. At Dina Patti Halt, Murliganj and Singheswar mandir at Madhepura, we saw patients. The reporters of HT, Jaya met our volunteers and visited our camps. We have taken a local mobile number 09430090312.
Yesterday, our first team has retuned which had ten members. This team is replaced by another YFE team which has 30 members including doctors and social work volunteers. Third team is also ready to go in flooded areas very shortly. Whatever government agencies can claim, but the reality is that- thousands of people have lost their lives, thousands are still missing, and lakhs of people are living like refugees. The best we can do for them is to prevent the spread of epidemic. The updates from YFE teams can be found with regularly updated blog at: http://yfebiharfloodrelief.blogspot.com/

Caste Discrimination at top most University of India
|
In several crimes which were committed by some communities against another, were scandalized and propagated at JNU campus through left parties, including SFI and AISA. Khailanji where OBC people killed Dalits- was portrayed by leftists that 'upper caste' had done this. The result of this lie was very depressing for those students who belong to unreserved category. They were treated as pariah and forced to feel self guilt. This incident did not become a matter of attention as it defies their artificial demonization of caste struggle. The reality of economic class is a truth and poor of all caste are always victimized.
While these political organizations spreading the venom of communalization and caste politics; JNU administration is providing them platforms and mechanism to do so. The students are being treats differently not only in admission and in fellowship, but also in providing basic requirements for survival.
The naked fact: 90-95 % boys and 95-100% girls hailing from non-reserved category/general category have not got hostel till date, even after two months of admission. In fact, those 50% who did not get hostel are mostly from general category. Will JNU administration elaborate it – what kind of social justice is this? Will the ugly faced castiest and communal political goons AISA, SFI will explain this, why such arrangement they wanted? Are those students not entitled to have a shelter? Don't they have right to justice and basic requirements…Why they are put in inhumane condition of the rooms in which 5-6 people are staying? Where is equal opportunity mechanism now? Is penalizing non-reserved students count in equal opportunity? Or sufferings of these students count into the fulfillment of their hunger strike which was in support of un-rational quota regime??
But their answer is obvious; they want these students to suffer. To cover this conspiracy, they are crying foul over each other, doing politics over dead bodies of innocent people. It is high time to unmask these ugly minded cleaver politics. This tactful arrangement has been done to oblige them by keeping them in their room, brainwash them in the name of Utopian words, promising them to be a pseudo intellectuals. Demonize their identity being non-reserved category student so that they can be political slave of these politics. JNU is a university campus, not a cadre making camp or sleeping cell. The author, in association with Youth for Equality is working on the matter to expose this discrimination. We demands a high level inquiry in this matter. If not done, we shall fight up to conclusive end, as we owed for equality at every level, equality for all.

Blasts in Delhi.. Again! but why?
|
Saturday, September 13, 2008
12th Sept night was little bit lengthy and I was working on my research paper. It happened so time consuming, I went bed at 4.30 AM of 13th Sept, but 3 hours later i had to getup as, friends had came to visit me. without proper sleep, I was not feeling so well, but still have to work. Had my breakfast and started for studying.. within a few minutes I got a call, from someone who was claiming to be a policeman. He straightly asked the contact number of some girl. The number was something like - 9268XX9770. Since, I dint know, I humbly denied that i don't have any number of such person. hearing this, the person gone mad... said, I will book you and 'dekh lunga' and so on.. I kept the call... It was an unwanted, uninvited headache for me.. I called some friends, and by them I came to know that these guys do 'wasooli' (extortion) kinda thing. I called to police control room and informed them about such things. After an hour, someone from Vasant Vihar police station called me and confirmed that the number belong to 'kashmiri gate' police station. I asked, why the hell he dared to call me and talk like this? the fellow on other side said sorry for the incident and said that they have removed my number some list...
I wondered, how badly policemen have decreased upto this level, they are doing 'wasooli' for private firms... they don't have work? don't they care about damn security thing of this city! just few hours later, I heard this news of serial bomb blasts!! It didn't surprise me... one can guess, how easy to carry out such operations, when cops are busy on working for 'call center' kinda sub-contracting job. These blasts have taken lives of more than 40 people, hundred are injured... families ruined and still there will be come statement and counter statement by our politicians. 'Panchnama' by police... News and counter news for TV channels and yet another blast for common man.. who is suffering it the most! Being a common man, you have to pay for their misdeeds, ignorance and immoral acts- all time- when they are at work and when they are not at work. Do you have a clue, how to get into the route cause of the problem? be it Indian mujaheddin, Al-quaida, ISI or CIA or any damn crook criminals!? ... no one have! a system which is valueless, chaotic and greedy from top end to bottom end- we can expect their response.
( This writing also can be find at http://beingtherebel.blogspot.com/2008/09/seven-blasts-in-delhi-again-but-why.html )

Indo-US Nuke deal and politics on it
Related to country: India About this category: Peace, Conflict & Governance
|
And finally the most fatal communal and fascist forces have joined hands together: CPM and BJP. During this whole drama, CPM and its allies have emerged as the most opportunistic and communal forces. Merging the alienation policy for minorities and protecting Alma mater China’s interest, they are trying hard to target two goals with one arrow. Their alliance with BJP is very much natural as they act in same line; best examples are Nandigram and Ahemdabad.
The present deal with US has become the apple of the eyes of foxy politicians. Though design of the deal is complicated and it has binding effects on atomic programme by allowing IAEA inspection. But the growing energy need of India can not be ignored. Though atomic energy contributes less than three percent of India’s energy requirement, still the deal can pave a way towards energy security. Lamenting communists are back on their anti-India assignment given by their boss from Peking. The China angle of these communists is another striking aspect of their opposition. Now they are talking of ‘National Interest’ and ‘Sovereignty’, with the dire shamming character, they also opposed Pokharan I and Pokharan II. Intention is very much clear; they don’t want India to be ahead to China in terms of strategic power and security. It is the matter of national shame when the Congress, yet another divisive giant, made government with support from communists who are indeed the greatest espionage in disguise.
The communal motive of present opposition by left forces was analyzed by political commentators, much before the truth sneaked through CITU general secretory Mr. Pandhe’s statement, political commentators had figured it out very clearly how CPM playing vote-bank politics over nuclear deal and trying to polarize Muslim voters around them. CPM’s communal agenda was to alienate Muslims from rest of the population. They are still trying their best to portrait that the interests of Muslims are different and contrasting from all other sections of population. This attempt has two cutting edge solutions: Making Muslims suspicious about Govt of India and second, creating clash of interests. This attempt is yet another hideous attempt of divisive policies of communists.
Spokesperson of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, India’s largest Muslim organization, Moulana Abdul Hameed Noomani has rightly said: “The Indo-US nuclear deal is an issue of national significance. Every community member is bound to have their own take on the issue. Why the Left is not talking about what other communities feel? What the Left is now doing is nothing but dirty politics? The issue is why has the CPM singled out Muslims? It’s high time the CPM realizes that national interest is more important than ideological interest. They can go on supporting China but don’t use the Muslim community to make their case.”
This controversial deal is no more a nuclear deal, with a long time legacy of betrayal against national interest, communists are back on work of communalizing the nation over an international agreement. This time they got their unconditional allied, alike fascist and communal counterpart 'BJP' with them. The most menacing red imperialists (CPI-ML and Naxalites) have been doing all possible activities to harm the India as nation, having deeply rooted with imperial objectives these mass murderers and casteist have danced along with CPM on the matter. Though the deal has been poorly design and it bent towards the American supremacy, it can't be opposed as it provide an edge to Indian Atomic Programme and recognize India as a nuclear power. However, more independent developments to be done on the energy requirement issue. It is high time for the youth of India to take responsibility for an inclusive vision and holistic thought process on burning issues like poverty, food security, energy security, internal security and national integration. We must have to think for tomorrow and it is our duty to eliminate foxy, opportunistic and greedy politicians.

Keynoting the Global Engagement Summit 2008
|
In an effort to revive my blog, I'm going to start posting updates from my work at TIG & GYAN :) Here is a reflection about my trip report to Chicago:
On April 17th I traveled to Chicago to attend the Global Engagement Summit at Northwestern University. I was invited as one of the Summit’s three keynote speakers and also held a workshop on “Technology as Global Platform”.
The mission of the Global Engagement Summit is to build the capacity of the next generation of global change leaders to cross-borders and partner with new communities to produce responsible, sustainable solutions to shared global programs. I was very impressed with how well the summit was organized, and the level of engagement and commitment of staff, participants and facilitators was incredibly inspiring.
One of my personal highlights was to have two active TIG members from Nigeria and Liberia attending my workshop on Friday morning. Both of them are actively involved in CLCWA, and the guy from Nigeria was also an active member of the Nigerian WSIS Youth Caucus team (he was wearing a green ‘Nigeria Rocks’ scarf, which brought back many good memories and made me very happy :)
In my keynote speech I emphasized the motivation and hope that derives from being part of a community of like-minded young people. When I prepared my speech the night before, I read on the GES blog on socialedge.org that, in his opening speech, one of the co-directors of the summit had remarked how he had always felt really frustrated about the limitations young people face in affecting change in a complicated world, and that it wasn’t until he participated in a previous Global Engagement Summit that he realized he was not alone, but part of a larger generation of young people with similar concerns, who together were making a difference. In my speech, I quoted him and then told my own story, which is very similar to his and indeed, in my belief, the story of so many of us.
I then went on to talk about GYAN’s 5-level model of youth organizing, explaining how social change is created through the collective and collaborative efforts of individuals and organizations focusing on awareness, action and policy change (the title of my speech was “Connecting global youth movements and community efforts to global systemic change”).
This is the blog post about my speech, which provides a brief summary from a listener’s perspective: link to blog about my speech.

The World Record Holders of Genocide
Related to country: Tibet
|
Friends,
It is a good example, how fanatic a communist can be. After a quick research in news sources, I found the total number of deaths caused by communist regime. They have killed more people than all regime together. Here is the data, how communists have killed the most people in the human history.
- People's Republic of China, Mao Zedong's regime (1949-1975): 40 000 000
Guinness Book of World Records: Although nowadays they don't come right out and declare Mao to be the Top Dog in the Mass Killings category, earlier editions (such as 1978) did, and they cited sources which are similar, but not identical, to the Glaser & Possony sources:
- On 7 Apr. 1969 the Soviet government radio reported that 26,300,000 people were killed in China, 1949-65.
- In April 1971 the cabinet of the government of Taiwan reported 39,940,000 deaths for the years 1949-69.
- The Walker Report (see below): between 32,2500,000 and 61,700,000.
- Stalin's regime (1924-53): 20 000 000
- Chinese Civil war: (1945-49): 2 500 000
- Tibet (1950 et seq.): Chinese occupation. (For the most part, it's already been included in the numbers above.) Free Tibet Campaign [ http://www.freetibet.org/info/facts/fact1.html]
* Tibetans killed by the Chinese since 1950: 1,200,000
* Died in prisons and labour camps between 1950 and 1984: up to 260,000
- Naxalites in India from 1990 to till date: 50,000
- Pol-Pot in Vietnam have have killed 10,00000
- CPI-M in West Bengal and Kerala- 20,000 Till date
(and accommodate millions of illegal Bangladeshi migrants)
Friends, knowing all this, if someone still support such pan-communist killers. After committing all these killing they are qualified to be termed and mass-butchers. One can imagine such people can be more ruthless than even Satan. Ironically, the Indian version of communists are not opening their mouth on present Tibet issue. If they are so much concern about global communist brotherhood, they should take stand on it- either in favour of China or Tibet.

Genocide in Tibet and Indian Stand
Related to country: China About this category: Human Rights & Equity
|
There is a famous saying which says, “I prefer liberty with danger to peace with slavery.”
I must congratulate our Tibetan friends for their brave struggle against China’s annexation of their beloved land. The recent brave protest is fundamental right of human being and Chinese government must be condemned with strong words for killing hundreds of Tibetan protestors.
The Dalai Lama accused China of unleashing a 'cultural genocide' in Tibet and demanded an impartial international probe into the situation in violence-hit Lhasa. Friends from Tibetan Freedom Movement has informed and appealed:
“Following a police crackdown on a protest staged by monks from Ramoche Monastery in central Lhasa, dozens of monks and lay people clashed with armed police in the streets, overturning police vehicles and lighting them on fire. Police have fired live ammunition into crowds of unarmed Tibetans and there are unconfirmed reports of a massacre of 26 Tibetans outside Drapchi prison and many reports that the number of Tibetans killed could top 100. While the international public and media have been appropriately horrified by China's clampdown, it is imperative that our national governments speak out in support for Tibet and condemn China's actions. Please call and write to your elected representatives and urge them to push their governments to strongly condemn China's crackdown in Tibet.”
For a sample letter, visit: http://actionnetwork.org/campaign/supporttibet
This incident is against humanity and basic human right. However, in India, the counterpart of Chinese government ‘the communists’ have been doing the same with fierce daring within democratic setup of nation. They have claimed the highest number of their protesters and opponents. Not even this, when China attacked India and captured a larger part of Laddakh, these communists started singing songs in praise of China and even claimed that “China’s head is our head.”
Since last one year, hundreds of villagers have been killed by communist government of West Bengal. When a probe was setup, they never hesitate to criticize even CBI as it found communist leader guilty for the massacre. Similarly, these communist political lumpens criticized judiciary when it questioned the murder of opponent party in Kerala. The Economic times reports “Stalin’s boys united in criticizing High Court.” It further reports, they angry over the high court’s observations that police in state have become instrument of political masters. Recently, they workers of communist party have killed several non-communist political workers.
The universal communist brotherhood has been nurtured in India very carefully. The communist in India feel jubilant when a communist government forces opponents or kills them. Due to participation and support in present government they have jeopardizes internal security of India several times by allowing Chinese companies, professionals an easy entry in India.
Blame to Nehruvian policy, India has not been able to take responsibility of peace and security in Asia. Rather it’s own territories are under control of militant state like Pakistan and dictator state like China. People from these territories are living a inhuman and tortured life. Policy makers of India during time of Nehru forget the teaching of Mahatama Gandhi - “Nonviolence is a weapon of the strong”. They rather make nonviolence is weapon of weak and weakest India and result is still India bleed in Kashmir and everywhere. Not only India, but the neighboring nation like Tibet was captured and enslaved. A weakest and unwise contemporary Indian government must be held responsible for this.
India and whole world must condemn the genocide in Tibet and put a sever pressure on Chinese demons until they stop suppressing Tibetan and make it free. It is very much possible in integrated global economy.

Malaysia: Desperate Indians seek Mother Country's help
Jaishree Balasubramanian
December 09, 2007 18:50 IST
Having "exhausted" all legal avenues and other channels against alleged marginalisation, Hindraf, spearheading the protests by ethnic Indians in Malaysia, has appealed to New Delhi to stop the "ethnic cleansing" in the Muslim-dominated nation.
"Hindraf had exhausted all legal avenues and all channels. So we are going international. Now I want to go to mother country (India) to ask for help, what else can we do, where else do we go," P Uttayakumar, a founder member of the Hindu Rights Action Front (Hindraf), said.
The lawyer-turned activist said ethnic Indians were by and large "fear riddled, timid and scared", but the largest-ever demonstration by the community last month showed that they wanted to be free from years of oppression and be heard.
"To me it is 50 years of marginalisation, suppression and oppression. It has been years of permanent colonisation of Indians in Malaysia. The floodgates just broke with the demonstration," Uttayakumar said.
Sitting behind a desk piled up with files and with the statuette of a blindfolded woman carrying scales of justice, Uttayakumar said the government was persecuting Hindraf for leading the protest.
"That is why they are persecuting and prosecuting Hindraf supporters," the lawyer said as his phones continuously rang.
He defended his statement about "ethnic cleansing of Indians in Malaysia" which had sparked angry reaction from the ruling party saying the situation was worse than the one in Bosnia where members of a community were selectively killed.
"In ethnic cleansing 'a la Malaysia' it is worse because you are living and suffering," Uttayakumar said. Uttayakumar alleged that Hindu temples were relocated near sewerage tanks and Indians were not given opportunities or had no upward mobility.
A police crackdown on at least 10,000 people during the November 25 protest against the alleged marginalisation of ethnic Indians had sparked uproar with India summoning the Malaysian envoy.
The Malaysian government has vehemently rejected allegations of discrimination against the community with Minister of Works Samy Velu, himself an ethnic-Indian, saying that the unemployed members were either "lazy or choosy". He also alleged that were lured by money to join the anti-government protest.
Uttayakumar, however, denied that the large turnout at the rally could have been prompted by people's hopes of getting a million $1 each.
"The November 25 rally caught the government by shock. I believe they would take stock but to what extent we have to wait and see," the Hindraf founder said, adding "we are asking for a change in mindset. We want to meet the prime minister."
"We will close down Hindraf if anyone can show that we promised them millions of dollars," he said.
He said that his brother Wyathamoorthy had in his speeches across the country to ethnic Indians talked about the four trillion dollar demand but not promised any money.
Uttayakumar said the 31 Indians arrested on charges of attempted murder after the protest near Batu caves "did not make any sense".
"These people were all inside the temple praying and 500 policemen were outside. How could 31 people attempt to murder one policeman," he asked.
The protesters wanted to march to the British High Commission to hand over a memorandum. The memorandum blamed the British for bringing Indians to Malaya 200 years ago as indentured labourers and exploiting them.
"The memorandum asked the British Government to give the ethnic Indians in Malaysia British citizenship or give four trillion US dollars in compensation," Uttayakumar said. This amounts to almost one million dollars per Indian in this country.
He felt India could help ethnic Indians secure seats in Medical and IT institutions there and offer scholarships to Malaysian Indians for IT training. He added that he was proud to be a Malaysian Indian.

Flag holders of International Islam and Killings of Millions of Non-Muslims in Isalimic state!
|
It is barely one month since the mouth piece of leftist Ideology 'Frontline' published a book review of a Kannada novel 'AWARANA' by S. Byrappa based on inter-religion marriage. This review criticized Byrappa with all possible academically accepted bad adjectives; However this novel draw a real picture of intentional Islamic conversion my luring non-Muslim girls, particularly Hindu girls which is often disguised as love story.
The fact is, such incidences are happening so obviously and at mass level that one can easily marked them in daily newspapers of India. Each day, you may find more than one cases of such origin. Many goes unreported. But yes, It is happening at mass level. The incidents of UP, Banglore and Kolkata have underlined this process very vividly...
In a recent incident, a married man, father of 2 children elope with a minor Hindu girl and still absconding. This whole sequence caused communal tension in whole district. There are similar incidents every day happening and our intellectual world is covering it with secular face, which is very dangerous and such acts are only a dangerous postponements of an alarm.
The very much reality is that, Islamic aggression is growing in decentralized way. When Pakistan's cricket team captain relating his team with world's Muslims... he is not doing it by mistake. He was trained to do so.
When blasts happen in India, whole Urdu media try to link it with CIA, FBI and MOSAD. But along with facts and links.. the Islamic link always proven as culprit.

Friends,
Wish you all 'Happy Janmasthmi' .. I really miss this occasion while not being at home. In fact, too much of struggles have made me a kind of atheist.. but I am sure I am not. I hope the days of celebrations won't make me wait more longer.... and Yeah, since I have believe in myself, I have a firm believe in God. Be it Ram, Krishn, Shiv, Brahma, Budhha or Myself!
I am certainly inspired by 'Upnishad' and enriched Indian philosophical heritage. which all individuals to think beyond all limits of spiritual barriers.
One more thing..
when you type my full name 'amit kumar srivastava' on google and click on 'I am feeling lucky' you will directly get the page of my poem on this matter... I wrote that poem ion June 12, 2004.
PS: Interestingly, this poem was rejected by TIG team, that I could not understand... But seeing its internet hits.. I can guess people like it.

More than 80 people have been butchered this year till 14th of August... and Thousands till independence in communal killings in North Eastern states and we Indian are just sensible spectators! ULFA the major responsible terrorist group has killed more than 25,000 people since it formed; and Government of India or Government of Assam have not done anything to stop such mindless killings. The most infamous terrorist group of north east is now getting all kind of support from Islamic Terrorist groups of Bangladesh and other agencies that are trying to disintegrate India.
